8why do you always write G-d?
habit, i guess. it’s a jewish thing and i remember my mom correcting me about it a few times, and that’s how she always did it. so that’s how i did it. i don’t know, sometimes i feel like it’s the least i can do, you know?
The name of the maker shall not be spoken, for it is too holy to pass the lips and reach the ears of mankind. One shall not even say “G-d”, but rather replace it and its Hebrew equivalent with Adonai. This shall be done out of respect and reverence.
